The first Euroformat lift certified to EN 81-20

At the end of 2017, the Euroformat factory successfully completed a Module G conformity assessment in Poland for an EFR machine-room-less lift. Certificate No. 1106/30/17/ZT/AO/L, issued by the notified body TÜV SÜD (1353), confirmed compliance with Directive 2014/33/EU as well as EN 81-20 and EN 81-50. This became an important milestone for the company and confirmed that Euroformat lift equipment could meet applicable European quality and safety requirements.

The first certified lift at Włoszczowa Północ railway station

The certified lift was installed at Włoszczowa Północ railway station in Poland. It was the first in a series of deliveries under a contract signed with the Polish company Trakcja Prkii S.A. in October 2017. Successful certification marked the beginning of a project to supply Euroformat lifts for European infrastructure and also became an important step in adapting the company’s production processes to the new standards introduced in Ukraine from January 2018.

The EFR lift is a machine-room-less design – a modern solution that makes more efficient use of building space. Such lifts can reduce the need for additional technical space while supporting energy-efficient and safe operation.

A machine-room-less lift is particularly suitable for infrastructure projects such as railway stations, where efficient use of available space is important. The equipment can also be configured to support accessibility requirements for people with reduced mobility.

The project provided Euroformat with valuable experience in applying its solutions in the European market and adapting manufacturing processes to international technical requirements. Certification of the first lift also gave the company practical experience with DSTU EN 81-20, which was being introduced in Ukraine.

Impact of certification on the company’s development

Certification of the EFR lift in Poland became an important milestone in Euroformat’s international development. Successful conformity assessment confirmed that the company’s equipment could be used in projects governed by European regulatory requirements and created additional opportunities for further deliveries.

Future plans and prospects for the brand

Following successful certification of the EFR lift, Euroformat planned to continue developing projects in the European market and supplying equipment for different types of facilities, including railway stations, shopping centres and residential developments. The next stage was expected to include certification of several additional lifts for Polish railway infrastructure.

The factory also continues to work on improving its products. Key development areas include:

  • Innovative technologies. Development of modern lift control systems designed to improve operating efficiency.
  • Energy efficiency. Use of solutions and components aimed at more efficient energy consumption.
  • Accessibility. Development of lifts designed to meet the needs of different passenger groups, including people with reduced mobility.
  • Range expansion. Development of new lift equipment models for different types of buildings and expansion of the lift spare parts range.

Euroformat also plans to deepen cooperation with European partners, including Trakcja Prkii S.A., in order to implement new projects and expand the company’s international experience.
